| JOB DESCRIPTION: |
| Employee will be responsible for performing regulatory and law enforcement work to protect the lives and property of County citizens. Duties will include maintaining custody and transporting of prisoners; maintaining peace and security of the courts; locate and arresting persons wanted in Montgomery County and fugitives from other states; extraditing wanted persons to Montgomery County and fugitives from other states; serving civil process; appearing in court to testify; carrying out court orders by collecting judgments or taking possession of property; conducting Sheriff's sales; executing warrants of restitution by evicting tenants from property; serving emergency evaluation and domestic violence petitions; and handling civil disturbances and emergencies. |
| NOTE: |
| Employees work varying shifts (including split shifts) and may be called upon to remain in court for the duration of daily proceedings and therefore may have to work irregular hours. Deputies must also be available for periodic overnight trips in extradition cases and be able to travel by air, when necessary, to return inmates to and from other states. Employees will be covered by a collective bargaining unit. |
