The Montgomery County Sheriff's newest canine, Griz, and handler Deputy Joseph Stanton recently traveled to Wilmington, NC to compete in a patrol dog competition held by the United States Police Canine Association. During the three day competition, the team was judged in the areas of obedience, agility, article search, suspect search, criminal apprehension and handler protection. The team, in their first competition of its kind, certified with enough points to allow them to compete in national events. The team also brought back a trophy for the best out of a region dog. |
