
New Canine Sam Joins the Sheriff's Office
Deputy Sheriff III Boyer and her canine partner Sam have completed their
training and are ready to work. Deputy Boyer joined the Sheriff's Office in 1998
and teamed up with her new partner Sam in 2001. In July of 2001 they successfully
completed Explosive Detection Training with the City of Alexandria Police
Department. In January of 2002 they successfully completed Patrol School with
the Montgomery County Police Department. Sam is a German Shepard who is very
energetic and eager to work. Deputy Boyer and Sam are often seen around the
Circuit Court and Government Complex in Rockville and are ready to respond to
calls wherever they may be requested. This is the Sheriff's Office second active
Canine Team and selection is underway to add a third team. |
