| Administration Unit |
This section provides general administrative support to the office including recruiting and hiring, training, background investigations, payroll, purchasing, internal investigations, automation and budget related functions. |

| Attachment Unit |
The Attachment Unit is responsible for carrying out the execution of a variety of writs, including Writs of Execution, Attachments before Judgment, Replevins, Distress for rent and other specified court orders. |

| Child Support Unit |
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office has a dedicated Child Support Enforcement Unit whose sole assignment is Child Support Enforcement. Some of the various functions of this unit are the service of all the Child Support processes in Montgomery County, service of all the Child Support Warrants, transporting of incarcerated non-custodial parents to court as well as providing security in our county's courtrooms and the Child Support Offices for Child Support cases. |

| Courts & Transportation |
The Sheriff is responsible for for transporting and guarding prisoners between the Montgomery County Detention Center (MCDC) and the various court holding facilities, as well as to and from health care facilities and various other institutions. When a writ is received form other counties, deputies are required to transport prisoners from MCDC to other Maryland District and Circuit Courts. The Sheriff's Office performs about 20,000 such prisoner transports a year. |

| Domestic Violence |
The Sheriff's Office is the lead agency in Montgomery County for the service of Domestic Violence Petitions, Emergency Evaluation Petitions, Peace Orders and related process. This is one of the largest areas of growth in the Sheriff's Office, and due to strengthening of Domestic Violence Laws and increased awareness over the past several years this has strained the resources of the Sheriff's Office. Still deputies in the Sheriff's Office perform welfare checks on victims, arresting those abusers found in violation of court orders. |

| Evictions Unit |
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office receives approximately 10,000 writs of restitution from the Montgomery County District Court each year. Many of these writs are resolved by the parties prior to an eviction being carried out by the Sheriff's Office. |

| Internal Affairs Division |
The Sheriff's Office is dedicated to serving the citizens of Montgomery County in a courteous and efficient manner. As an elected official and public servant the Sheriff answers directly to the residents of Montgomery County. |

| Judicial Center Security |
The Sheriff's Office supervises and trains contractual uniform security officers. These security officers monitor the entry-level security screening stations located within the Judicial Center. The security officers strictly enforce the policy and procedures of the Sheriff's Office and any court issued orders relating to entry-level security. |

| Special Response Team |
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office utilizes a Special Response Team (SRT) that has the responsibility of responding to any high-risk situations that may arise out of the Sheriff's Office duties. The SRT Tactical Team also assists the Montgomery County Police Emergency Response Team on high risk calls that they may receive. The SRT is comprised of Tactical Members, Canine, Crisis Negotiators and Tactical Medics. |

| Fugitives & Warrants |
The Criminal/Warrant Section investigates, locates and arrest approximately 3,000 fugitives per year for charges ranging from very serious felonies to lesser offenses and misdemeanors. The Sheriff is responsible for serving all Circuit Court and District Court civil bench warrants. The Warrant Section maintains on-line warrant systems including National, State and Local systems. |
